                                     Rescueswimmer     Missions    Training 



 

To become a rescueswimmer, in Finland, one needs to be in good physical condition and should have a strong background in diving (for example Finnish Navy Diver or  Rescuediver Course in the emergency services college of Finland). Good extra points are given from medical studies.The candidates mental and physical applicability to the profession is noted in the test occasion.

 

The training starts with the basic studies in the Frontier- and Coast Guard school (1˝yrs.) and follows with helicopter- and winch training (˝yrs.) and a practice season before the wings are given. Various short term courses also include the training.
